Jae sparks controversy over “least popular” K-Pop member comments
Former DAY6 member Jae, now known as eaJ Park, stirred up discussion after commenting on a TikTok video about the “least popular” member in any K-Pop group.
The TikTok creator got emotional discussing this topic, and eaJ openly related, revealing he was once that member in DAY6.
eaJ wrote:
I was that person in Korea. It was painful to attend fan-related events. During our second comeback, the producers told me not to give speeches. At every fan event, I somewhat felt like I didn’t belong there. It took some time to get used to it, but I eventually did. Of course, I received love from overseas, and even from a few Korean fans, and I will forever be grateful to those people. I still remember the short conversations we had over those years. So when you meet a group you like, show love to everyone.

He explained that attending fan events was painful and producers asked him to avoid speeches. Though hurt, he found comfort in the overseas fans who supported him. He urged fans to love all members in any group.
Netizens pushed back hard. Many said DAY6 didn’t have a “least popular” member or serious popularity gaps. They argued eaJ shouldn’t comment since he left before the group rose to major fame.
Netizens reactions included:
- DAY6 didn’t have severe popularity disparities, no unpopular member at all.
- Why does he keep running his mouth?
- He’s starting again.
- If he stayed quiet, he’d be praised for his vocal color. Why be like this?
- Didn’t he leave before they got popular?
eaJ was a key part of DAY6 early on. Known from K-Pop Star before debut, he had a solid fanbase. But after facing controversies and health issues, he left the group.
