Ju Haknyeon is facing police investigation over prostitution allegations.
On June 19, 2025, a netizen filed a complaint with Gangnam Police Station requesting an investigation into Ju Haknyeon for violating Article 4 of the Act on the Punishment of Arranging Sexual Traffic. The charges relate to engaging in or facilitating prostitution.
The complaint calls for a wider investigation, pointing to alleged structural prostitution solicitation and complicity within the industry. An insider statement mentioned a producer linked to Ju being suspended over similar allegations.
The controversy blew up after photos of Ju Haknyeon socializing with former Japanese AV actress Kirara Asuka at a Tokyo bar surfaced online. Rumors soon claimed Ju had engaged in prostitution during his stay in Tokyo.
Ju Haknyeon responded the same day with a handwritten apology posted on his personal account. He confirmed attending the late-night gathering on May 30 with an acquaintance and that Kirara Asuka was present.
"It is true I was at the gathering, but I did not engage in prostitution or any illegal activity as reported in the media or online rumors," Ju Haknyeon stated.
Prostitution is highly illegal in South Korea and considered a sexual offense. Authorities are currently monitoring the situation.
