Heo Nam Joon is facing backlash after an unofficial fan event went sideways.
The actor recently visited a fan birthday cafe event to show gratitude. But when he arrived, the event organizer locked the doors and only let themselves and close friends inside. Fans outside were blocked from entering.
The organizer had been informed by Heo Nam Joon’s agency about his visit. Still, fans were shocked and embarrassed that the actor had to deal with the situation firsthand.
His agency, H. Solid, released a statement:
“Hello, this is H. Solid. First, we would like to thank all the fans who have shown unchanging support and love for actor Heo Nam Joon. Recently, he visited the site of an unofficial event prepared by fans to express his gratitude.
However, we deeply regret that an unexpected incident occurred, contrary to our original intention. We are continuously monitoring the situation, and after internal discussions, we would like to inform you that the actor will not visit fan events outside of official schedules, individually or through advance notice, from now on.
Actor Heo Nam Joon always appreciates the hearts of every fan and would like to respond to those hearts in the future quietly. We ask for your understanding on this matter.
We sincerely hope that a healthy fandom culture where all fans can continue to be happy will be made, and we will do our best so that our actor can repay everyone with a better image. Once again, thank you for all the love fans have sent us. Thank you.”
Fans voiced their shock and frustration on Twitter. One wrote:
“So to summarize, they held a birthday cafe event for him, but on the day he came to visit, the organizer and their friends made reservations, locked the doors, and hung out with him. And instead of reflecting on their actions, they are acting like the victim? As a fan, I’m so embarrassed about this…” — @namlang41720

In light of this, Heo Nam Joon’s agency confirmed he will no longer attend unofficial fan events to avoid further issues. Fans are left reeling from the incident and concerned about future interactions.
