Famous Celebrity Cuts Hair Short Following Severe Damage

Popular Star Shaves Her Head After Extreme Hair Damage

DJ Soda is facing controversy after a hair salon severely damaged her hair during a bleaching treatment.

She revealed her hair was originally thick and healthy after a 3-year break from bleaching. But the salon left bleach on too long, melting her hair from the roots. She ended up shaving the entire back and sides of her head due to hair loss.

Fans and onlookers were shocked by her appearance at recent events. DJ Soda shared:

“Hair salon ruined my hair.
You probably shocked by the photos.
I got my hair bleached at my usual salon… But they left the bleach on for too long, and my hair melted from the roots. In the end, I had to shave the entire back and sides of my head.

Many people who saw me at events and shows were very shocked. I was also very surprised and sad. My hair kept falling out in big handfuls every day. I was so upset that I couldn’t sleep for 2 weeks and cried almost every day.

It’s really hard for me to look in the mirror… My hair is still falling out more. Most of it is only about 3mm long now, so I can’t even get hair extensions. It will take over 2 years for my hair to grow back.

Don’t end up like me, bleaching really depends on the hairstylist’s skill, so make sure to do your research and get it done by a bleaching specialist!”

The salon reportedly refused responsibility and even sent messages that seemed threatening after her post.

DJ Soda explained the situation in further detail:

“As an artist who needs to continue performing and attending events, I initially made yesterday’s post to inform my fans of the current state of my hair. However, I now feel the need to offer additional explanation due to the hair salon’s protest and a threatening remark implying they would ‘change the tone.’ Three weeks ago, my hair was severely damaged from the roots due to a treatment, and the hair designer has not contacted me once since.

Yet after seeing my post, they reached out to my manager offering ₩5.00 million KRW (about $3,630 USD) to sign a settlement agreement and delete the post. I want to state clearly: no amount of money can undo the damage to my appearance or the pain it has caused. I gave them plenty of opportunity to resolve this.

With the salon director’s consent, I received a clinical diagnosis and quoted the care costs — 4.8 million [/KRW] for one year or 6.8 million [/KRW] for two years. The director then requested a certificate from a more professional hospital, or suggested a hospital they could monitor. I even offered to find more affordable options and asked them to send a hospital list. But they reacted emotionally, saying the price was too high, repeatedly called late at night demanding a meeting… After that, we received no further contact or hospital list for over three weeks.

Despite this, they now act as if we were the ones avoiding contact. We repeatedly asked for a hospital list, but they just insisted on a meeting. Now they refuse to provide anything just because we didn’t meet? Is that really the attitude of someone trying to solve a problem? After my post, the director became angry, questioning why we responded this way, claiming we were in the middle of negotiations, and even said, ‘Should we try changing the tone?’—which felt like a threat.

Shifting blame onto us, the victims, is completely unacceptable. The designer has never once contacted me to apologize, so why act as if I’m making false accusations? The director is now distorting the situation and expressing misplaced anger. Is this how someone who truly wants to apologize behaves? I will no longer accept any settlement offers. No amount of persuasion or money will change anything.

As someone with years of experience bleaching hair, I understand how critical the process is.

But during this treatment, bleach was applied to my roots and left for over an hour three times, causing severe breakage. The designer denied everything, saying it never happened, and claimed they’d never seen a result like this before. I was extremely disappointed by the lack of accountability, the denials, and the complete absence of a sincere apology. What I wanted was not excuses or lies—but honest acknowledgment and a heartfelt apology.

This is not just about sharing my experience. I post this in hopes that victims are not ignored, and to help prevent anyone else from going through the same thing. A designer who stayed silent for over three weeks now wants to offer money to delete a post that reflects negatively on them. A director who responds with, ‘Should we change the tone?’ This is unacceptable in every way.”

Despite the trauma, DJ Soda remains confident and beautiful, though she faces a long recovery ahead. The salon’s refusal to properly acknowledge or apologize is gaining backlash as this story spreads.
