Mark Lee is facing backlash after a fan’s rude video call request sparked outrage online.
The controversy began during a recent video call promoting his solo album The First Fruit. A fan asked Mark to show off his muscles, referencing NCT DREAM’s comeback images. Mark firmly responded, “I don’t want to.” He explained the photos were from earlier and that he has lost weight due to stomach issues.
The fan then crossed a line, asking, “So you don’t even control your diet?” Mark paused but calmly replied he lost weight because of health problems and promised to show next time.
Fans quickly rallied behind Mark, condemning the fan’s disrespect and invasive question. Many pointed out Mark’s usual conservatism about showing his body and stressed the need to respect his boundaries.
“i’m glad mark directly replied ‘i don’t want to’ to yet another request to show his body… we know he’s not comfortable with it and never shows more than necessary yet people keep asking him for that.. stop :/ also him saying ‘no’ should be enough, you don’t need a reason”
— emi (@onyourbh)“’so you don’t even like.. control your diet’ is an INSANE thing to say and SOOO beyond rude. would you ever say this in a normal conversation?? and saying this to him after he set a firm boundary that you then made him justify??”
— cait ♡ (@doieshope)“When someone say they don’t want to, the first thing that comes up to your head shouldn’t be ‘why’ I hope people will respect boundaries and I hope you stay healthy and get actual rest mark :(”

The incident went viral, with fans urging everyone to respect Mark’s privacy and health. Hopefully, Mark is feeling better these days as he continues his promotions.
