Nam Jihyun, the talented former member of 4Minute, has addressed swirling rumors about her retirement from the entertainment scene. Once celebrated for her impactful presence in K-pop, Jihyun is now navigating her way through a new chapter as both an actress and a fitness instructor.
On May 25th, she took to her personal social media to clarify the confusion surrounding her career. “A lot of people have been asking if I retired after opening my barre studio. The answer is no,” she stated emphatically.
Jihyun opened up about her journey, sharing, “I think I just grew tired of constantly having to be chosen by someone. I started working out to escape that sense of helplessness and to gain the strength to move forward. Barre became that outlet for me. It gave me energy. I wanted to share that with others and express the value of working up a sweat.”
She continued with heartfelt sincerity, “After I started exercising, I felt like I could finally live more independently. I believe sincerity connects with people. I want to share the energy of living life on your terms. I will move forward slowly and with strength. Please support me.”
Since making her debut in 2009 with 4Minute, known for their infectious hits like “Crazy” and “Hot Issue,” Jihyun has successfully transitioned to acting, making her mark in drama series and films. March marked a significant turning point for her as she became a certified barre instructor and opened her own studio, embracing her entrepreneurial spirit.
