Fourth-Generation Idol Faces Massive Backlash After 281 Days of Silence Toward Fans

4th Gen Idol Sparks Immense Backlash With 281-Day Silence Toward Fans

Shuhua of i-dle faces fire for almost a year of silence towards fans.

After sending a message on July 25, 2024, on Bubble, the paid fan communication app, Shuhua disappeared for 281 days, not posting again until May 2, 2025.

Unlike her groupmates who actively teased i-dle’s comeback with livestreams, Shuhua chose to post on Bubble in the middle of the night — a move fans called out for lacking effort.

Out of 805 days since i-dle started using Bubble, Shuhua has sent fewer than 10 messages total. She hasn’t posted or commented once on Weverse since i-dle joined the platform.

She also drew ire for not thanking fans after i-dle won a Daesang at the Seoul Music Awards. While other members expressed gratitude publicly, Shuhua stayed silent.

Netizens are not holding back:

“She hasn’t improved in nearly 10 years. No growth in skills, no better communication. What are people even stanning her for? Living off just her looks for 10 years? That’s way too long. There are plenty of alternatives out there, yet fans keep getting played and still stick around… Honestly, the fans are more baffling to me.”

“She’s the only member in i-dle who’s totally unnecessary… She’s completely clueless about her place.”

“She knows fans are upset, the other members have said stuff, the company’s said stuff, even the staff around her have spoken up, but she deliberately chooses not to communicate. Makes you wonder if she sees fans as complete suckers. LOL.”

“Even after winning a Daesang, she doesn’t seem all that grateful.”

“When my idol didn’t send a single Bubble message for a month, I went off like they’d lost their mind. But Shuhua hasn’t sent one in 281 days? And she’s still silent even after winning an award? How are fans not totally disillusioned by now?”

Shuhua herself has acknowledged her lack of communication but fans remain frustrated with her continued silence.

The situation is gaining traction as fans and netizens monitor Shuhua’s unwillingness to engage despite repeated calls from the i-dle team and their agency.
