The group formerly known as (G)I-DLE has rebranded as i-dle. On May 19 at 6 PM KST, they will release their 8th mini album, “We are.” This marks their first comeback in 10 months after their 7th mini album, “I SWAY,” launched in July 2023. All five members have renewed their contracts with CUBE Entertainment, and with 2024 being their 7th debut anniversary, anticipation for the album is high.
On May 2, i-dle officially dropped the “G” from their name to signify a new chapter. This name change reflects their evolving identity and commitment to producing boundary-defying music and concepts.
To celebrate their transformation, the group released a series of impactful videos, including a farewell clip to the letter “G” and an i-dentity trailer featuring each member. They also put out a special album titled “We are i-dle,” reinterpreting past hits as a unified five-member team.

The new album “We are” contains six tracks:
- Title track: “Good Thing”
- Pre-release single: “Girlfriend”
- B-sides: “Love Tease,” “Chain,” “Unstoppable,” and “If You Want”
All members contributed to the songwriting and production. Soyeon, known for her producing skills, wrote and composed both “Good Thing” and “Girlfriend.” The lead single features a distinctive blend of retro sounds and playful hooks, highlighted by the catchy refrain “Holy moly shhh.” Its choreography, which includes a “thumbs-up” gesture, has gained attention in pre-release clips, and the “Good Thing” Challenge is already trending among influencers.
After the album’s release, i-dle will hold a COMEBACK LIVE event at 9 PM via Naver NOW’s Chzzzik and the group’s official YouTube channel.
