G-Dragon’s 'MEDIA EXHIBITION: Übermensch' goes global with AI and VR experience

G-Dragon is set to embark on a new venture with his inaugural global media exhibition tour, titled ‘G-DRAGON MEDIA EXHIBITION: Übermensch’.

The tour is co-produced by CreativeMUT and Galaxy Corporation, G-Dragon’s agency, and will kick off in Shanghai, China. This ambitious project aims to provide fans worldwide with an immersive experience with the K-pop star, marking a significant moment as it is the first K-pop media exhibition to go global at this scale.

The exhibition’s official social media channels unveiled the Shanghai poster on May 19, generating considerable buzz. Scheduled to run from May 30 to June 22 at Qiantan Taikoo Li, it will occupy both the 1st and 4th floors. This venue, located in Shanghai’s bustling business district, represents the first K-pop media exhibition held in China.

Qiantan Taikoo Li spans approximately 120,000 square meters and is popular among Millennials and Gen Z, surpassing the size of ‘The Hyundai Seoul,’ the venue for the exhibition’s debut. This underscores G-Dragon’s substantial influence in the region.

The exhibition focuses on the theme of “Übermensch,” drawn from G-Dragon’s forthcoming third full-length album. Initially premiered in March at ‘The Hyundai Seoul,’ it attracted over 55,000 visitors in just ten days and received acclaim as a groundbreaking media art experience. With upgrades and a larger venue in Shanghai, expectations are high for a similar turnout.

Attendees can expect an engaging experience featuring AI, real-time holograms, and VR created with Unreal Engine. Highlights include hologram performances and simulated meet-and-greet opportunities with G-Dragon through VR technology.

The exhibition will also showcase a signature daisy flower motif, an emblem associated with G-Dragon, including a 7-meter-tall giant daisy that captivated fans in Seoul.

Ticket reservations for the Shanghai exhibition will open on May 25 at 2 PM KST through Alipay, Douyin, and other official platforms. Additional details regarding future cities and dates will be shared via the exhibition’s official social media channels.
