I-DLE is making headlines after winning the grand prize (Daesang) at the 34th Seoul Music Awards on June 21, 2025. The ceremony took place at Inspire Arena in Incheon, South Korea. This is a major milestone for the group, marking their first-ever Daesang.
They also snagged a Main Award (Bonsang), making them double winners for the night. Notably, they are the first girl group to take home the grand prize in 15 years, with the last being Girls’ Generation in 2010.
I-DLE, rebranded from (G)I-DLE earlier this year, is on fire. Their second full-length album, ‘2’, sold over 1.53 million copies in its first week. The lead track, ‘I hate being sick’, topped major global charts. Their recent hit, ‘We Are’, also crossed 1 million in sales, marking their fourth consecutive million-seller.
In other categories, the Best Album Award went to TOMORROW X TOGETHER and ZEROBASEONE. ZEROBASEONE’s fifth mini-album, ‘Blue Paradise’, is a massive success, achieving a fifth consecutive million-seller and landing at No. 28 on the Billboard 200.
TOMORROW X TOGETHER also clinched the Best Digital Song Award, becoming the first group since BTS in 2020 to win top honors in the same year.
The Rookie of the Year award was shared among new groups KiiiKiii, KickFlip, and Hearts2Hearts.
Major winners included:
- DOYOUNG: Best Solo Artist
