KG is back in the spotlight after a major controversy rocked her former group VCHA and JYP Entertainment’s USA branch.
Earlier this year, KG officially left VCHA and filed a lawsuit against JYP’s US branch. The lawsuit alleges abuse by company staff, with some members reportedly sustaining injuries. One shocking claim states a member was driven to a suicide attempt due to the abuse.
VCHA formed through the survival show America2Korea (A2K), led by J.Y. Park. The girl group released music initially but went on a long hiatus with no updates—until now.
On July 11, Kaylee, a VCHA member who had been on hiatus since March 2024, confirmed her departure from both the group and JYP Entertainment via Instagram.
Kaylee Lee:
“Dear VCHA fans and supporters,
This is Kaylee. I wanted to inform everyone that my journey with JYP Entertainment and VCHA has come to an end.
Firstly, I want to express my deepest gratitude to JYP Entertainment for the incredible opportunity they gave me and for all the experiences I gained during my time as a trainee and member of VCHA.
To all the amazing VLIGHTS, who have supported us with so much love and passion – thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your encouragement has meant the world to me.
While this part of my life is closing, I am incredibly excited for the new one ahead. I’m looking forward to exploring new creative paths and sharing my own unique artistry with you all. I’ve already started working on new things, and I can’t wait to show you what’s next.
I hope you’ll continue to support me as I embark on this new journey. Your continued love means everything. Let’s make new memories together!
With love and gratitude,
Kaylee Lee”
Fans had hoped Kaylee would return from hiatus, but this announcement confirms her exit.
KG’s lawsuit remains a serious issue as it sheds light on alleged abuse within JYP’s American branch. The timing of Kaylee’s hiatus and claims about a member’s suicide attempt have left many assuming she is the member in question, though this has not been confirmed.
We’ll keep monitoring this developing controversy. For now, Kaylee’s focus is on new creative projects beyond VCHA and JYP.
