WJSN’s Dayoung Scores First Win with “Body” Amid Chart Surge
Dayoung is making major waves! On September 9, the WJSN member launched her solo career with “Body,” flaunting a bold, sexy image that caught fans off guard. Initial responses saw her track struggling on charts, but not for long.
After a steady climb, “Body” jumped a staggering 277 spots on Melon’s daily chart from September 14 to September 15. The track pushed through the ranks, breaking into Melon’s Top 100, and Dayoung couldn’t hold back her emotions.
“This morning while I was at a schedule, I heard the news that I made it into the Melon Top 100. I cried. Thank you so, so much for listening to my very precious album. Really, thank you.”
Fast forward to September 23, Dayoung snagged her first-ever victory on MTV’s THE SHOW with 6590 points, triumphing over competitors IDID and AxMXP.
Her victory brought tears to her eyes as she delivered her acceptance speech. During the encore, WJSN members Exy, Bona, and Yeonjung joined her on stage, dancing alongside CRAVITY’s Hyeongjun.
As of now, “Body” has peaked at No. 50 on Melon’s Top 100, marking an impressive 600-point increase from its debut position.
