‘Head Over Heels’ Delivers Captivating Premiere
‘Head Over Heels’ (견우와 선녀) captivated audiences with its debut on June 23. The new tvN drama quickly blended fluttering romance and mystical fantasy, sealing its place as a must-watch.
The story follows Park Seong-ah, portrayed by Jo Yi-hyun (조이현), a high school student who secretly lives as the celestial shaman ‘Cheonji Seonnyeo.’ She encounters Bae Gyeon-woo, played by Choo Young-woo (추영우), a transfer student cursed with misfortune.
Seong-ah is compelled to save Gyeon-woo, declaring, “He’s too handsome to die.” However, his distrust of shamans drives a wedge between them, exploring themes of love and fate.
Later, a water spirit threatens their safety. Seong-ah employs a talisman, the ‘Flower Boy Charm,’ but the plan backfires, adding a layer of tension. In a dramatic climax, her emotional plea, “I protected you,” is swallowed by chaotic water sounds, leaving viewers breathless.
In ratings, the premiere snagged a nationwide average of 4.3% and peaked at 5.2%, dominating its time slot across all channels. Among viewers aged 20–49, it made history as the highest-rated Monday-Tuesday drama premiere in 2025.
Don’t miss ‘Head Over Heels,’ airing every Monday and Tuesday at 8:50 PM KST on tvN.
