Former NCT member Taeil has been sentenced to three years and six months in prison for aggravated rape.
On July 10, a Seoul Central District Court judge delivered the sentence to Taeil (31) and two associates. Each defendant must also complete 40 hours of sexual violence educational programming and register as sexual offenders. They’re banned from working in environments involving children and youth for five years.
Details of the Incident
"The three defendants, including Taeil, are friends. Around 2:33 AM on June 13, they met the victim, a Chinese woman, at a club in Itaewon and drank alcohol together. They then forcibly dragged her into a taxi and took her to a villa in Bangbae-dong, where they took turns gang-raping her."
The crime unfolded between 4:00 and 4:30 AM. Authorities tracked the suspects using CCTV footage, and group chat messages indicated premeditated actions to avoid detection.
