IVE is facing backlash after the writer of Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters was accused of copying the girl group’s style and ignoring them entirely.
The controversy began when IVE members Liz, Rei, and Gaeul joined a viral trend by dancing to “Golden” with their own choreography to “I AM.” Netizens immediately noticed the similarities between the film’s concept and tune and IVE’s work.
Fans highlighted that the creator often retweeted and shared posts of other idols’ covers from the film, including BTS’s Jungkook, ACE’s Park Junhee and AlexA (Kim Seri), and idols on M Countdown — but conspicuously ignored IVE’s cover.
Many believe the omission is a deliberate slight, pointing out:
