Nicole from KARA got caught up in a wild CIA agent rumor back in 2013. The drama started when Old Daily ran a story claiming the former idol was a secret CIA operative.
The article said a former CIA official revealed the agency trained young stars to spread influence. Nicole allegedly got recruited at 13 and sent to Korea at 15 under a covert “KARA Project.” She supposedly continued secret training during her idol days.
Nicole’s agency, DSP Media, denied knowing anything about it.
“We are not aware of any such facts. This would be a personal matter for Nicole, and not something the company is involved in.” — DSP Media
The real kicker? The original “CIA Nicole” article was fake. It was made up by a KARA fan using the nickname “Ga**” on a fan site. The user later admitted:
“After seeing articles about Nicole that didn’t even meet the minimum standards of journalism, I thought, ‘I could write a better one myself.’ So in the end, I posted this fake article about the Nicole CIA theory.”
This fake story went viral the same day major Korean and Japanese outlets reported Nicole planned to open a bakery in Japan.
What started as fan fiction exploded into a full-blown viral hoax online, sparking wild speculation about Nicole and the CIA.
