Kang Daniel Left Traumatized By Serial Rapist Case

Kang Daniel reacts to South Korea’s most notorious serial rapist on SBS’s ‘A Story About The Day’

Singer Kang Daniel appeared visibly disturbed on SBS’s crime show, A Story About The Day, during the June 5 episode about Lee Joong Gu, aka “Balbari.” Lee is South Korea’s most notorious serial rapist with 184 recorded victims.

Lee’s crimes began in 1999 in the Daejeon area. Over about eight years, he assaulted multiple women daily, with victims ranging from teenagers to women in their 40s. Some victims were even forced to lure their friends for Lee to attack.

Police were determined to catch him due to the sheer cruelty of his crimes. Lee lived a double life, pretending to be a family man. He terrorized areas from Daejeon to Cheongju until finally caught in 2006 at age 45.

During the episode, Kang Daniel said:

“I feel like throwing up.”

He added:

“He doesn’t even sound like a human.”

Lee initially resisted arrest but then surrendered, saying he was “relieved” to be caught.

The episode sparked strong reactions from viewers and guests alike, many questioning whether any legal punishment could fit the scale of his crimes.
