Kim Soo-hyun is facing controversy after filing legal action against the YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute and the bereaved family of late actress Kim Sae-ron, accusing them of false accusations.
On June 23, Kim’s agency, Gold Medalist, announced criminal complaints against Kim Se-ui, the institute’s operator, and Sae-ron’s family. The complaint claims they spread false information using AI-generated audio recordings.
Gold Medalist stated, “On May 7, Kim Se-ui played a manipulated audio file at a press conference. He claimed that Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron had a relationship since middle school and that Kim offered 4 billion KRW to silence a whistleblower. These are baseless and outrageous fabrications.”
The agency added, “Despite knowing the recordings were falsified, Kim Se-ui and Sae-ron’s family filed a criminal complaint against Kim Soo-hyun for false reporting and violating the Child Welfare Act. This is a clear act of malicious false accusation.”
Previously, on May 7, Kim Se-ui claimed they filed charges against Kim Soo-hyun. They alleged he violated the Child Welfare Act by denying a relationship with Sae-ron during her minor years and accused the family of defamation.
In response, Kim Soo-hyun’s team had already filed a complaint for defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act, asserting that the audio was falsified and used to spread lies.
The situation is developing, and fans are closely monitoring the outcome.
