KPop Demon Hunters’ main character Rumi is stirring buzz for her uncanny resemblance to BLACKPINK’s Jennie from the “Kill This Love” era.
The animated action-comedy from Sony Pictures Animation features an internationally famous girl group doubling as demon fighters in a sleek, alternate Seoul. The film is directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans and follows the trio called Huntrix.
A fan named Jane spotted the similarity between Rumi and Jennie, pointing out shared style elements like dragon braids, heavy eyeliner, and a high-neck shirt.
“i’m curious if ktl era jennie was one of the idol inspo for rumi’s character design bc i’ve been getting the vibes since the trailer dropped and saw that dragon braid and eyeliner”
