Sony’s KPop Demon Hunters is making waves off-screen as its fictional groups HUNTR/X and Saja Boys debut on the Billboard Hot 100.
The movie follows three female idols who fight demons by night. When demons appear disguised as Saja Boys, HUNTR/X’s Rumi faces personal battles.
The soundtrack features “Golden” by HUNTR/X (including EJAE, Audrey Nina, and Rei Ami) and “Your Idol” by Saja Boys (with Andre Choi, Neckway, Danny Chung, U-KISS’s Kevin Woo, and samUIL Lee).
Both songs debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 for the week of July 5. “Your Idol” landed at #77 and “Golden” at #81.
These tracks have outperformed BTS J-Hope’s “Killin’ It Girl,” which dropped from #40 to #90 in its second week.
They also surpassed KATSEYE’s “Gabriela” (#94 debut) and “Gnarly,” now on the chart for four weeks.
Leading the K-pop pack on the chart is BLACKPINK’s Rosé, holding strong at #28 with “APT.” Her collab with Bruno Mars has lasted 36 weeks on the Hot 100.
