aespa is facing plagiarism accusations over their new comeback teaser.
The SM Entertainment girl group revealed their upcoming mini album, Rich Man, dropping September 5. It’s their sixth mini album and first since Whiplash in November 2024.
The teaser video and poster hint at a heavy rock concept. The title uses a Metallica-style font, and silhouettes show members with instruments.
But fans quickly pointed out the thunder effects in aespa’s teaser look strikingly similar to those in LE SSERAFIM’s “CRAZY” concept. Color schemes between the two groups’ teasers also raised eyebrows.
Fans took to Twitter with reactions like:
“the standard”
— lex
“act like an angel and dress like CRAZY”
— chivan06_
“act like an angel and dress like crazy”

“act like an angel and dress like crazy…”

Others defended aespa, saying the similarities aren’t enough to call it plagiarism.
“This looks nothing like crazy mind u”

LE SSERAFIM’s “CRAZY” came out last August 30.
aespa will start their third world tour in Seoul with shows on August 29, 30, and 31.
