Lee Sang-yi’s Fate in ‘Good Boy’ Shocks Fans!
In a jaw-dropping twist, Good Boy star Lee Sang-yi has been shot and plunged into the ocean, leaving fans shaken. Viewers witnessed Park Bo-gum‘s frantic scream echoing through the drama’s latest episode, which scored nationwide ratings of 5.7% and 5.6% in the Seoul area, according to Nielsen Korea.
The intense episode aired on June 28, featuring Yoon Dong-joo (Park Bo-gum) leading his elite crime unit against a vicious ambush orchestrated by Min Joo-young (Oh Jung-se), during their “Middle East Tunnel” operation. The team suffered major setbacks, losing critical evidence and contact with Ji Han-na (Kim So-hyun).
A flicker of hope emerged when Ji Han-na left clues about her whereabouts, linking to a truck plate number. However, chaos ensued as Min Joo-young’s actions led to a staged protest that injured Mayor In Seong (Sung Ji-ru), resulting in a police crackdown that left the special unit vulnerable.
With their base relocated to a pawnshop run by Kim Geum-nam (Park Chul-min), the team apprehended Gwang-se (Jung Jae-won), who revealed Joo-young’s plans for a drug deal with the Yakuza. Meanwhile, Ji Han-na found herself trapped on a drug freighter, discovering a Russian Tokarev pistol tied to her father’s unsolved murder.
Just as Ji Han-na confronted Leo (Go Jun), the episode reached a nail-biting climax. After a desperate struggle, Kim Jong-hyun was shot protecting her, falling into the sea as Yoon Dong-joo screamed for him in a heart-wrenching finale.
The episode also unveiled Kim’s tragic backstory: an eye injury from fencing, caused by his desire to protect Ji Han-na. This devotion raised questions about his future in the sport, especially relating to the episode’s title, which hints at a potential comeback.
Episode 10 of Good Boy airs tonight, June 29, at 10:30 p.m. KST on JTBC and will be available globally via Amazon Prime Video. Stay tuned for more updates!
