On May 30, Sony Music Vision announced an exciting new project at a content showcase event held in Los Angeles: a solo documentary film centered on BLACKPINK’s Lisa. This upcoming film aims to provide fans with an intimate look at Lisa’s life over the past year, focusing on her journey following her solo debut.
The documentary will explore her independent career, showcasing a variety of significant moments including behind-the-scenes footage from the creation of her album, “Rockstar,” highlights from her groundbreaking solo performance at Coachella, snippets of her ventures in acting, and touching personal moments shared with her family.
Taking the director’s seat is Soo Kim, known for her work on Apple TV Plus’s documentary series, Welcome to K-Pop: Idol Stories. In explaining his vision for the documentary, Soo Kim said, “> I wanted to make sure Lisa knew that so many fans want to see who she is off stage.” He expressed excitement about the process, noting that “> There were so many surprising moments while working with her. Audiences will get a glimpse into unexpected stories and a world of Lisa that hasn’t been seen before.”
Lisa also shared her enthusiasm regarding the film, stating, “> I feel truly lucky to be able to capture these special moments on film and share them with my fans.”
While the production team offered a sneak peek at select scenes during the event, the documentary’s title and release date are still under wraps.
On another note, fans can look forward to Lisa kicking off the 2025 BLACKPINK World Tour – Memories at Goyang Stadium from July 5-6.
