Male Idol Openly Shares Life Following Coming Out as Gay

Male Idol Honestly Confesses Life After Coming Out As Gay

Just B’s Bain comes out as gay during L.A. concert, sparking mixed reactions

Just B’s main vocalist Bain publicly revealed he is gay at a concert in Los Angeles this April. During the show, he stated,

“I’m f*cking proud to be part of the LGBT community.”

The moment marked a breakthrough for Bain, who said,

“That moment is still vivid. The fans cheered me on, and I felt like I was standing completely as myself for the first time.”

Bain, who debuted with Just B in 2021, did not plan to come out initially. The decision came while preparing for a solo stage on an overseas tour. The day before the L.A. concert, he informed his members and agency, all of whom supported him.

This makes Bain the first K-pop male idol to publicly come out.

He spent years hiding his identity after realizing he was gay in middle school. Bain confessed,

“I thought, ‘It’s fine as long as I just don’t show it?’. But when I think about it now, it’s sad.”

During his trainee days and even after debut, he stayed silent about his sexuality. Two years into his career, suppressed emotions overwhelmed him, and he said,

“At one point, everything hit me, and I felt I was lying to everyone. I am a person who is living a lie.”

After coming out to his family, members, and agency, Bain gradually found acceptance and a place to be himself.

He did face negative reactions post-revelation but expected some backlash. He remains optimistic but aware of the burden on the team.

Bain describes his life change:

“It still doesn’t feel real that I’ve come out. I’ve been pretending to be straight for so long that I don’t think I’m showing my true self fully. But I’ve gained much confidence and try not to hide it when I meet new people. In that way, I think I’ve changed a lot.”

His courage reportedly created a “safe zone” for fans, many of whom have come out to him.

Bain insists his identity won’t define his entire career, stating,

“I will have to show how well I am living and working hard.”
