Kim Garam is facing controversy once again. Speculation about her comeback has been shot down by MODEN BERRY KOREA. The agency stated on June 11 that reports of signing an exclusive contract with her were "completely unfounded."
Garam debuted with LE SSERAFIM in May 2022 under Source Music, but her debut was marred by allegations of school bullying. The agency claimed the accusations were “malicious distortions” related to her middle school years. They added,
“Third-party testimonies confirmed that Kim Garam was actually a victim of malicious rumors and cyberbullying during middle school.”
Despite their defense, a notice from the School Violence Countermeasure Committee confirmed her as a perpetrator, leading to Level 5 disciplinary action. The agency insisted her role was limited to supporting friends but acknowledged the impact of ongoing rumors.
After halting her activities for her mental well-being and subsequently leaving the group in July 2022, Garam sparked renewed interest when she opened a personal social media account on May 18 and shared recent photos. This led to rumors about her negotiating with MODEN BERRY KOREA.
However, the agency cleared things up, confirming they met with Kim Garam but chose not to proceed with a contract.
MODEN BERRY KOREA represents several artists, including former DIA member Somyi, TEEN TOP’s C.A.P, and TO1’s Choi Chihoon.
