Netflix’s “KPop Demon Hunters” Leaves Fans Infatuated With the Villains

Netflix's "KPop Demon Hunters" Has Fans Down Bad For The Villains

Netflix has just unveiled the trailer for an exciting new animated K-Pop movie titled KPop Demon Hunters, and it promises a thrilling blend of music and supernatural action!

Set to premiere on June 20, the film tells the story of a dynamic three-member girl group that not only performs by day but also battles demons under the cover of night. The protagonists—Rumi, voiced by Arden Cho; Mira, voiced by May Hong; and Zoey, voiced by Ji Young Yoo—must confront a sinister group of demons masquerading as a rival boy band. Their leader, Jinu, is voiced by actor Ahn Hyo Seop, adding star power to the cast. Audiences can also look forward to a special track titled "Takedown," featuring vocals from TWICE’s Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyeon.

Fans have already taken to social media to express their enthusiasm for the film. The boy group, intriguingly named Saja Boys, draws its name from the Korean word for "lion" as well as the folkloric figure Jeoseung Saja, known as the Grim Reaper. Despite their ominous title, many online users are finding it hard to resist stanning these characters.

Social media reactions have been buzzing. One fan tweeted, “The scream I scrumpt when the evil yokai demon things disguised themselves as a boy band. Not even gonna lie, that shit would’ve worked on me too!!” Another shared their excitement, saying, "I just know I’ll be obsessed with this demon boy group." With plenty of admiration pouring in, it’s clear these demon hunters have captured the hearts of many.

Some fans couldn’t help but draw comparisons between the Saja Boys and real-life K-Pop idols, noting resemblances to ATEEZ members like Seonghwa and San. The vibrant hair choices of these fictional characters are already setting trends, with fans calling out likenesses such as "PINK HAIR SAN."

KPop Demon Hunters looks set to be a unique addition to the K-Pop film landscape, blending thrilling as well as magical elements. With its gripping premise and popular cast, it’s a film that K-Pop enthusiasts won’t want to miss. Check out the trailer here!
