New Idol Group Shocks with Majority of Members Being Middle School Dropouts

New Idol Group Horrifies By Being Mostly Middle School Dropouts

Hearts2Hearts is facing backlash after it was revealed most members dropped out of compulsory middle school.

The new SM Entertainment girl group, debuting members aged 15 to 19, shocked netizens when details of their education surfaced. A viral post showed that except for Carmen and Stella, every member dropped out of middle school.

18-year-old Jiwoo only attended Hanyoung Middle School before dropping out. 19-year-old Carmen left SMA Kristen Harapan (grades 10-12) but later earned a GED through homeschooling. Stella dropped out of high school.

Fans and netizens are horrified. Many demand change, questioning how idols can be pushed to drop out of compulsory schooling.

“How can they make someone drop out when middle school is compulsory…”

“It’s harmful…”

“They should at least let them finish middle school…”

“It’s a relief if they debuted, but it’s kind of messed up that even trainees who didn’t debut were made to drop out.”

SM Entertainment has not commented on the education controversy surrounding Hearts2Hearts. The situation is gaining traction among K-pop fans worried about trainee welfare.
