Newly Debuted Idol Receives Zero Stars and Faces Early Elimination From “Boys II Planet”

Thanatorn faces backlash after zero-star elimination on Boys II Planet

Thanatorn, a 2023 debut idol from boy group THE WIND, shocked fans when he received zero stars and was immediately eliminated during Boys II Planet’s first round.

The show’s new rule means contestants with zero stars go home right away. While low ratings might be expected for trainees, netizens were stunned an already debuted idol got such a harsh judgment.

Performing BIGBANG’s Taeyang and BTS Jimin’s “VIBE,” Thanatorn’s skills sparked fierce debate online. Many fans slammed Mnet’s scoring and editing, saying his performance wasn’t “nowhere near zero stars.”

Fans fired back hard on social media:

“Thanatorn really don’t deserved 0 stars for this performance that only have minor mistakes.”
— @deowinday

“Even Thanatorn failing when he can literally sing like this ”
— @Ieehanies

“Thanatorn can sing and Mnet should fuck themselves.”
— @miniseungxen

“Gonna be honest… idk if I even wanna watch anymore… what’s the point when the system seems so rigged to eliminate from the very start… Thanatorn u deserve better.”
— @yuyumangel

“Thanatorn ain’t even do bad, Mnet you will DIE.”
— @duezabyu

Boys II Planet aired its first episode on July 17, 2025.
