NewJeans’ solo activities ban stands after Seoul High Court throws out their appeal.
The court ruled on June 17, 2025, rejecting NJZ’s (formerly NewJeans) appeal against ADOR’s injunction. This keeps ADOR in full control of their management.
The Seoul Central District Court had already sided with ADOR earlier, barring the members from pursuing solo advertising deals without the agency’s approval. The members challenged this but failed to overturn the injunction and quickly filed an appeal.
The appellate court upheld the original decision. NewJeans cannot engage in solo projects independently for now.
Netizens blame the group for this result, saying it was inevitable given their massive early success.
“Seems like it’s actually worse when they’re highly successful from debut.”
— Netizen comment“This is such a given. But if you read the Youtube comments from their fans, they’re all blaming HYBE.”
— Netizen comment“Self-destruction.”
— Netizen comment“We might be happy to see them again if they come out on Sugarman later on or something.”
— Netizen comment“I thought they had evidence to win.”

The drama continues as ADOR maintains full management control over NewJeans’ activities. Fans and observers are watching closely.
