‘Good Boy’ Stirs Buzz with Intense Drama
JTBC’s ‘Good Boy’ is heating up with its latest episode. Just two episodes in, the drama racked up impressive ratings of 5.3% nationwide and 5.6% in the Seoul area (Nielsen Korea).
In the latest episode on June 1, Yoon Dong-joo (박보검) faced off against villain Geum Tokki (Kang Gil-woo), showcasing his transformation from disgraced ex-boxer to fearless police officer.
He stormed the Gold Rabbit Gang’s hideout alone and took Tokki down in a fiery showdown. This earned him media attention and helped him shed the shaming nickname ‘Ddung-joo’.
The elite violent crimes task force was then officially launched by team leader Go Man-sik (Heo Sung-tae), but the reality? More PR fluff than a real force. Ji Han-na (Kim So-hyun) reached her breaking point, firing rubber bullets in protest before resigning.
A real case had them reeling when Man-sik accidentally ingested drug-laced candy, leading to a chaotic hallucination. Dong-joo’s raw physical and emotional strength shone as he sprinted barefoot, carrying Man-sik in a shopping cart.
The episode culminated with Dong-joo’s confrontation with Min Ju-young (Oh Jung-se), the chilling villain of the story. Their locking eyes marked a high-voltage moment, filled with tension between justice and calculated evil.
‘Good Boy’ airs Saturdays at 10:40 PM and Sundays at 10:30 PM KST on JTBC and globally via Amazon Prime Video. Don’t miss the next pulse-pounding episode!
