Investigations are underway into a series of controversies involving actress Kim Sae Ron and actor Kim Soo Hyun, who is facing scrutiny for allegedly dating her when she was a minor. The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced that it is currently handling ten lawsuits and accusations related to the matter, with seven cases being investigated by the Gangnam Police Station and three by the Seodaemun Police Station.
On May 19, during a press conference, officials stated that Kim Soo Hyun has filed a complaint and indictment in response to seven cases against him, while Kim Sae Ron’s representatives have initiated three complaints. Notably, the family of the late actress has accused Kim Soo Hyun of violating the Child Welfare Act, supported by audio recordings shared with the Garo Sero Institute.
In a counter to these allegations, Kim Soo Hyun has filed a complaint against the Garo Sero Institute, citing claims of stalking and defamation. His legal team asserts that the audio recordings may have been manipulated using artificial intelligence.
Furthermore, attorney Bu Ji Seok, representing Kim Sae Ron’s bereaved family, has faced further legal troubles, being reported to the National Human Rights Commission of Korea for allegedly providing misleading legal advice.
The investigations and legal proceedings illustrate the serious nature of the allegations against both parties involved, as authorities continue to delve into the complexity of these cases.
