Musical actor Jeon Ho Jun is facing serious allegations after his ex-girlfriend, referred to as A, accused him of physical assault and financial exploitation. A’s graphic account surfaced on an online community forum on May 24, where she shared her harrowing experiences.
A posted a message on DC Inside’s musical and theater gallery titled: “Musical actor Jeon Ho Jun assaulted me—three weeks of recovery. Please help.” In her plea, she also included her Instagram handle, encouraging others to read her story and spread the word.
On her social media, A tagged Jeon directly and detailed her claims of abuse during their relationship, stating:
I was abused while dating actor Jeon Ho Jun.
She accompanied her allegations with several photos showing bruises, asserting they were the result of violent confrontations with him.
A claimed that she supported Jeon financially throughout their time together, covering costs like coffee truck support for his performances and all their dates. She alleged that Jeon received over ₩10.0 million KRW (around $7,320 USD) in gifts from her, which he solicited under the pretense of intention to marry, including items like a smartphone, luxurious scarves, and a necklace. Additionally, A said she personally funded a trip to Thailand costing ₩5.00 million KRW (about $3,660 USD), bearing all expenses for their ten-day stay.
Her accusations didn’t stop there. A disclosed that she contracted herpes during their relationship and suffered a miscarriage. She further alleged to have been giving Jeon ₩1.00 million KRW (roughly $732 USD) monthly in cash for Pilates classes to support him.
Describing a particularly alarming incident, A recounted that Jeon returned home intoxicated one night and violently assaulted her:
“After losing contact with him after 9 pm, he returned home around 2 am. He was drunk, and I went to open the door as I heard him coming in. He strangled me the moment I opened the door, grabbed my hair, and slammed me to the floor. He pressed his knees into my chest and continued choking me. When I begged for mercy and tried to escape, he slapped me and strangled me again…”
She admitted that despite initially expressing reluctance to press charges, hoping to resolve the issue through dialogue, Jeon subsequently blocked her and engaged a lawyer, shutting down all communication. A has also shared a text message in which Jeon urged her to stop posting about him on Instagram.
Determined to speak out, A concluded her post by asserting that even in the face of threats of defamation counterclaims, she could not tolerate seeing Jeon prepare for more musical roles without facing any repercussions.
Jeon Ho Jun, who made his debut in 2007 with the musical Notre-Dame de Paris, is celebrated for his performances in productions like Kinky Boots, Wicked, Cats, and Chicago. A prominent figure in the South Korean musical scene, he has yet to respond publicly to these serious allegations.
