Reasons EXO’s Baekhyun Believes Idols Should Limit Close Celebrity Friendships

Why EXO's Baekhyun Thinks Idols Shouldn't Have Many Other Famous Friends

Baekhyun sparks buzz with unexpected advice to LE SSERAFIM’s Eunchae on "celebrity friends."

During an episode of Eunchae’s Star Diary, hosted by LE SSERAFIM’s Eunchae, EXO’s Xiumin, Baekhyun, and Chanyeol appeared as guests. The chat included lighthearted moments, especially after EXO members realized how young Eunchae is.

Things took a serious turn when Eunchae asked for advice on how LE SSERAFIM could last 13 years like EXO. Baekhyun stressed the importance of loving performing and not losing that passion.

Chanyeol added that strong bonds with group members are key since they spend more time together than with anyone else.

Then Baekhyun dropped this surprise:

“Don’t make a lot of other celebrity friends.”

Eunchae was visibly shocked, saying she’d been trying hard to make friends and hadn’t heard that advice before. Later, the EXO members joked that their limited celebrity friendships were “the secret to their success.”

The clip went viral on Twitter, with fans praising Baekhyun’s advice as real talk from years in the industry. Many agreed that finding genuine friends in K-pop is tough, and warned idols to be careful with trust.

User Fanny Alexander tweeted:

“Because its hard to find real friends in their industry. Mostly its for publicity. They would befriend you when you’re on top but one scandal away they are gone. So don’t trust fully and don’t overshare. It’s actually a great advise ”

Others said this mirrors warnings from many idols, especially female idols who emphasize keeping to themselves to avoid being taken advantage of.

User T£RRY M@R¥ pointed out:

“sistar used to warn idols all the time to keep to themselves as did a lot of 2nd gen idols, a lot of the female idols now are under 18 and this is such good advice to give because the industry is going to take an insane toll on these kids”

Baekhyun’s blunt advice highlights the harsh realities idols face behind the scenes — making friends isn’t always simple in K-pop.
