Red Velvet’s Yeri Admits to Crying Over Leaving SM Entertainment

Red Velvet's Yeri Confesses To Breaking Down In Tears During SM Entertainment Departure

Yeri opens up about the stress of leaving SM Entertainment earlier this year and switching agencies amid drama filming.

On August 8 KST, Yeri guested on Hyeri’s YouTube show Hyell’s Club and revealed the emotional backlash she faced when her contract with SM expired.

Yeri said she initially expected to handle the change smoothly due to her calm personality. But as the deadline approached and her drama shoot ended, she admitted things got overwhelming.

She confessed:

“I hadn’t taken any meetings during that time,”

and had to rush through all the agency transfer procedures.

“It became stressful,” Yeri said.
“I was crying a lot while drinking makgeoli.”

Yeri also reflected on breaking down from pressure.

“Since it was my choice, I had to make the decision and all that,” she said, admitting she misjudged her own emotional reaction.

Thankfully, Yeri had support from those around her.

Despite the rocky transition, Yeri expressed satisfaction with her current agency.

This candid chat came alongside recent talks about Red Velvet’s future post-SM, which stirred debate as well.
