Seo Hyun-jin Allegedly Defrauded in 2.6 Billion KRW Rental Scam, Files Auction Request Individually

Seo Hyun-jin Reportedly Victim of 2.6 Billion KRW Rental Scam, Personally Filed Auction Request

Seo Hyun-jin is facing controversy after reportedly falling victim to a massive rental scam worth 2.6 billion KRW.

According to a NewsPirit report from June 2, the actress filed for an auction on a luxury villa in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul after her deposit was not returned.

Seo signed a rental contract for 2.5 billion KRW in April 2020, with the lease registered. She renewed it in January 2022 for 2.625 billion KRW. When the contract expired in April 2025, the landlord failed to return her deposit.

In September, she registered a leasehold claim and vacated the property. The auction process she initiated in April 2025 faced challenges as the villa, originally appraised at 2.873 billion KRW, failed to attract bids. The minimum bid price has reportedly reduced to 2.298 billion KRW.

Seo’s agency, Management SOOP, stated:

“We cannot confirm details as this pertains to her private life.”

Meanwhile, Seo Hyun-jin is set to star in the upcoming JTBC drama ‘Love Me’.
