Seventeen’s Hoshi and Woozi are facing mandatory military enlistment. The duo announced their enlistment dates, sending waves through the fandom.
Pledis Entertainment confirmed today that Woozi will enlist first on September 15, followed by Hoshi on September 16.
“Hoshi and Woozi will begin fulfilling their mandatory military service in September,” said Pledis Entertainment.
They stressed that this is a normal duty for South Korean men. However, it means both members will step back from Seventeen’s group activities.
Their last events before enlistment will include the upcoming "HOSHI X WOOZI FAN CONCERT [WARNING]" and a video call fan sign for their 5th full album.
Pledis also reminded fans:
“We kindly ask fans to refrain from visiting the site of the training center entrance ceremonies. Please send your farewell messages and words of support for Hoshi and Woozi through Weverse instead.”
Fans are understandably upset but are encouraged to show their support.
Pledis continued:
“We ask for CARATs’ unwavering love and support so that Hoshi and Woozi can fulfill their service duties diligently and return in good health.”
Both members were born in 1996 and debuted with Seventeen in 2015. With this announcement, they’ll be the third and fourth members of the group to enlist, following Jeonghan and Wonwoo.
