Actor Shin Seung-ho has stirred up discussion after it was revealed he received a military service exemption due to a torn cruciate ligament.

His agency, King Kong by Starship, confirmed the news on June 18. The injury required surgery in 2021 and left him unfit for military duty.

Born in 1995, Shin is currently 30 years old and has a background as a soccer player at Singal High School and Dong-Eui University before transitioning to modeling in 2016 through the SBS Supermodel Contest.

He made his acting debut in the 2018 web drama "A-Teen" and has since garnered fame with roles in hit series like "At Eighteen," "Love Alarm," "D.P.," "Alchemy of Souls," and "Weak Hero Class 1."

Right now, he’s featured in the tvN variety show "Handsome Guys (핸썸가이즈)" and is gearing up for the release of his next film, "Omniscient Reader: The Prophet (전지적 독자 시점)," set for July 23.
