So Ji-sub (소지섭) is taking on a thrilling new role in the upcoming action drama Manager Kim (김부장). He’s set to portray a former special agent turned devoted father on a harrowing mission to rescue his missing daughter.
Sources revealed that So Ji-sub will lead in this 8-episode adaptation of the hit Naver webtoon, which follows an unassuming single dad whose life is shattered when his daughter Minji disappears. Driven to reveal his mysterious past, he dives into a relentless quest that tests both his skills and emotions.
So Ji-sub gained global acclaim with his recent performance in Mercy for None (광장), making a notable return to the noir genre after 13 years. With Manager Kim, he aims to explore deeper emotional territory as a father caught between love and his deadly history.
The original Manager Kim webtoon quickly climbed the rankings, combining intense action with poignant storytelling. It’s part of a universe alongside popular series like Lookism (외모지상주의) and Viral Hit (싸움독학).
