Ding is suing a cosmetic surgery clinic for USD $140,000 after a chin repair surgery left her with a permanent facial scar.
Ding, from China, first had fat grafting in South Korea, which caused swelling. She then had liposuction to fix it. Later, she went to a clinic in Jiangsu promising to restore her chin.
She spent 20,000 yuan (USD $3,000) on the surgery in February. Days later, her chin developed massive blisters. The clinic told her it was “normal,” but the wound worsened and became infected.
Doctors at a major hospital confirmed the clinic gave her dangerous and incorrect advice, causing the permanent scarring.
Ding says the ordeal ruined her life.
"It ruined her life," Ding said.
She had to shut down her business, end her relationship, and battled depression due to the damage.
