THE BOYZ’s "ESTHER BUNNY" art collab exhibition cancelled amid Ju Haknyeon scandal
The long-anticipated collaboration event between THE BOYZ and beloved character brand ESTHER BUNNY has been scrapped. The exhibition, titled “ESTHER BUNNY Exhibition: In Search of Myself,” was set for June 28 to August 10, 2025, at Seoul Arts Center’s Hangaram Art Museum. It promised to attract both K-pop and art fans.
But just days after member Ju Haknyeon was removed from THE BOYZ for his prostitution scandal involving a Japanese pornstar, the event was axed.
ESTHER BUNNY announced on June 18 the cancellation was “due to unforeseen external circumstances.”
“Thank you sincerely to everyone who has been waiting for ‘Esther Bunny Exhibition: In Search of Myself.’ This exhibition was prepared with great affection from the very beginning, in line with our brand slogan, ‘Love Myself, Love Yourself.’ However, due to unforeseen external circumstances and after much deliberation, we have unfortunately decided to cancel the exhibition.
We deeply apologize to everyone who has been looking forward to it. All purchased tickets will be fully refunded. We will do our best to return with a wonderful ESTHER BUNNY exhibition in the future. Thank you.”

The cancellation has sparked major backlash online. Fans expressed outrage over the scandal’s impact on innocent staff, artists, and fans.
- “Damn… What about the artist and staff?”
- “What a massive inconvenience he is.”
- “All this because of one person… what the hell.”
- “Please sue him. Seriously.”
- “They probably already set aside a bunch of merch, too…”
- “The artist and staff who worked on this… They must be devastated.”
Meanwhile, THE BOYZ tweeted a similar update but called the event postponed indefinitely instead of cancelled, citing “unavoidable circumstances.”
This blow comes as Ju Haknyeon’s scandal continues to unravel, linked directly to a Japanese pornstar who has also been involved with other idols.
The fallout is ongoing as fans and industry insiders watch closely.
