PLANCK STARS Faces Backlash for Controversial Fan Interaction
Japanese girl group PLANCK STARS is in hot water after feeding a male fan dish soap during a fan meeting.
The group quickly issued an apology, admitting the stunt was meant to be fun.
“The members, as a joke, made a male fan drink dishwasher soap. We are so sorry. Usually, we make sure our fans aren’t harmed during our fun live shows.”

This incident occurred at a recent event where the fan initially refused but eventually drank the soap. The fan later reassured media that he ensured it was safe before consumption.
“I made sure it was safe before drinking it. I had to rinse several times because bubbles kept coming out. If I become unwell, I will go to the hospital.”

This isn’t the first time PLANCK STARS has stirred controversy. Back in September 2022, they held a contest implying that the member who sold the fewest tickets would debut in an adult video. It turned into a playful joke when the “loser” turned out to be their dog, Puri-chan, and the “adult video” was just an animal video.
The group, known for their unconventional antics, also faced scrutiny for a previous incident where member Anaru Rairai left a performance mid-show to buy a churro, missing the entire concert.
PLANCK STARS debuted in 2018 and disbanded in February 2025, but they plan to reorganize and return in July 2025.
