The K-Pop Group That Spent 10 Years Unaware of How to Pronounce Their Own Name

The Unfortunate K-Pop Group Who Went 10 Years Without Even Knowing How To Say Their Group Name

Aaron is exposing a surprising slip-up by Pledis Entertainment — the agency never told NU’EST how to pronounce their own group name.

The former NU’EST member dropped this spotlight on the lack of guidance during an episode of the KOREAN COWBOYS podcast, co-hosting with Joel (ex-BTL). Aaron shocked listeners by going back and forth between two pronunciations.

“When I was promoting in ‘Nu-est’ or ‘Nu-east,’ or whatever you want to call it.”

Aaron then admitted the group was never officially instructed on which way to say it.

“I don’t know because it’s so confusing. We were never told, ‘It’s Nu-east,’ or, ‘It’s Nu-est!’”

From 2012 to 2022, the members never got clarity from Pledis on their group name’s official pronunciation.

Even after ten years, Aaron still doesn’t have the answer.

Fans wondering if they’ve been saying NU’EST wrong might have been right all along.

This revelation is gaining traction as many question how an agency can miss something so basic. Pledis Entertainment has yet to comment on the confusion around NU’EST’s name.
