Gabee opens up about the challenges of being a dancer with a voluptuous figure.
Renowned dancer and choreographer Gabee, who captured hearts on Street Woman Fighter, recently revealed a personal issue she grapples with while performing—her large bust size.
During an energetic guest appearance on MBC‘s Radio Star, she shared candid anecdotes highlighting her powerful stage presence and the unique challenges that come with it.
Gabee brought the house down by showcasing her dance prowess, even delivering a stunning performance of IVE’s hit songs, “Kitsch” and “I AM,” both of which she choreographed with her crew, LACHICA.
However, behind the glitz and glamour lies a practical concern. Gabee expressed that her curvy figure necessitates a careful selection of outfits. “I have a large bust size, so it’s very important for me to pick out clothes. Dancers don’t know how hard I work. When I use my chest with big moves, my clothes tend to shift or even split,” she explained.
“When I wear triangular tops, sometimes it splits to the side.”
This predicament became evident while she was filming Street Woman Fighter. Gabee shared a memorable incident: “During the leader ranking battle, I was dancing full force, and unfortunately, my triangular bra top shifted to the side.” Luckily, her teammates quickly came to her aid, helping her avoid any wardrobe mishaps.
From that day on, Gabee has been more strategic in her clothing choices. “Because there was an accident like this, I have to consider what won’t show and what’s comfortable to dance in,” she said.
Fans may recall her donning the triangular bra top during the ranking battle, later opting for a pink jacket to ensure she could perform without worry.
Inevitably, Gabee’s struggle reflects a broader dilemma: while clothes that accentuate one’s figure can be stunning on stage, they also present risks for performers. “It’s a dilemma because clothes that show off your body are pretty on stage,” she noted.
Despite these challenges, Gabee has spoken openly about body positivity, embracing her figure and encouraging others to see beauty in diverse body types. “I learned to embrace my ‘big butt’ and body the way it is.”
As she continues to light up the stage and inspire fans, it’s clear that Gabee’s incredible talent shines through, with or without the perfect outfit.
