IVE’s Yujin makes history as first female idol on Esquire Korea cover in 28 years
IVE’s Yujin is breaking records with Esquire Korea. After 28 years, a female idol finally landed the cover of the prestige fashion magazine — and it’s Yujin, formerly of IZ*ONE.
The magazine’s August cover famously featured BTS’s J-Hope, but now Yujin steps up as the first female idol cover star in the magazine’s history.
Esquire Korea’s Instagram teased the September issue cover and photoshoot, praising Yujin’s “adorable and girlish charm” alongside discovering her “contrasting allure.”
“The cover of the September issue of Esquire features AN YUJIN of IVE. With an adorable and girlish charm YUJIN has, we wanted to discover a contrasting allure that she possesses within.”

Yujin rocked Fendi’s F/W 2023 collection, delivering a confident and intense gaze for the camera. The magazine says this marks a strong statement for female idols.
“Wearing Fendi’s F/W 2023 collection, she stood in front of the camera with an intensive gaze, a confident demeanor, and an overpowering presence.”

The cover will be followed by an exclusive interview with Yujin in the September issue. This marks a big step for Yujin’s solo career and highlights K-Pop’s growing influence in global fashion.

This milestone also paved the way for more female idols on Esquire Korea. NewJeans members Minji and Danielle later landed their own covers in November 2023 and November 2024, respectively.
Yujin’s career from IZ*ONE to IVE continues to soar, blending music and high fashion as she cements her place as a rising global star.
