Maeng Seung Ji Calls Out Disturbing DM from Agency
Get this: comedian-turned-actress Maeng Seung Ji isn’t holding back. Recently, she shared a screenshot on Instagram that revealed an outrageous direct message (DM) from someone claiming to represent an agency catering to “VIP clients.” Pretty wild, right?
In her Stories update, Maeng expressed her frustration about receiving a message offering a staggering ₩40 million KRW (around $28,900 USD) in exchange for a three-night "partnership." The DM, which had a bizarrely professional tone, introduced the sender as someone working with high-profile clients and laid out their intent to discuss “customized services.”
Here’s the thing: the message contained both Telegram and LINE contact info and even urged Maeng to reply if she was interested. The DM read:
“Apologies for the sudden DM. We are an agency that works with VIP clients and specializes in providing customized services to individuals seeking high-value sponsors.”
Not exactly your average fan interaction, right?
After putting them on full blast, Maeng Seung Ji remarked, “There are some strange people out there,” adding a direct plea to “Please refrain.” Seriously, it’s unsettling to think about how often stars deal with situations like this.
This kind of sexual “sponsorship” isn’t anything new in the K-Entertainment industry. Maeng Seung Ji isn’t the first to encounter these unsolicited propositions. If you want to dive deeper into the topic, remember to check out Dal Shabet Serri‘s experience on how these offers slip into idols’ DMs.
So yeah, it seems like the digital age is bringing a whole new set of challenges for celebrities. Not only do they deal with the pressure of fame, but they also face unwanted advances that can border on predatory. What do you think about Maeng’s response?
