Nayeon is facing backlash over accusations of copying BLACKPINK’s Jennie.
A viral Nate Pann post slammed TWICE’s Nayeon for “copying” Jennie’s outfits. The OP shared a side-by-side photo compilation showing similar stage costumes and off-duty looks worn by both idols, claiming Nayeon intentionally wore outfits Jennie had already debuted.
The post also pointed out matching sunglasses styles as part of the “copying” claim.
The original post quickly gained traction, hitting over 95,000 views.
Fans rushed to Nayeon’s defense, pushing back hard against the copycat narrative.
“Aren’t there a lot of overlaps between celebrities’ dresses anyway? Sometimes, even actresses end up wearing the same dresses.”
“Jennie and Nayeon’s personalities and tastes match well. They’ve been close since they’ve been trainees. It’s not that they copy each other, but their preferences are similar, so it’s natural that they overlap. Speaking as a Jennie fan who likes her friendship with Nayeon.”
“If you had studied during the time you spent on looking for these pictures, you would have already succeeded.”
“They probably have overlapping sponsorships. Stop nitpicking over everything.”
“Stage costumes are given by stylists, though?”
The controversy is being treated as a case of overblown fan quarrels rather than intentional copying.
