Lee Jee Hoon is facing controversy over alleged domestic violence.
Police confirmed a popular Korean actor was reported for domestic violence against his wife at their Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province home. The incident happened on July 24.
The actor, called “A” in reports, argued with his wife “B.” When he tried to leave, she blocked him, leading to a physical scuffle. Police got a 112 emergency call and arrived quickly.
Authorities ruled the case as a domestic protection issue, not criminal, since his wife declined to press charges. Police confirmed the report but refused to share more details.
Netizens pieced together the actor’s identity as a 40-something who has appeared in popular movies and dramas. Speculation pointed to Lee Jee Hoon, known for his supporting role in the 2017 hit movie The Outlaws, which hit 10 million viewers.
Shortly after, Y.one Entertainment, Lee’s agency, confirmed he was the actor involved.
“The police reports confirmed that the matter was not serious and that the scuffle didn’t escalate to the point of an assault,” the agency stated.
The situation is still developing as fans and netizens monitor the case.
