Yong Junhyung is blasting his agency over a sudden contract termination and massive damage claims.
On March 25, 2024—the release day of his album Beautiful Dystopia—Junhyung says he was told his contract was terminated without reason. The label then demanded billions of won in damages for issues he never agreed to.
Junhyung took to Instagram on June 21 to call out the agency’s actions. He claims they first said the label needed reorganization and terminated his contract “unconditionally” on the album’s release day. After confusion, they suggested working together again, only to later push him out unilaterally.
He also says the company forced him to pay damages tied to investor money he had no knowledge of. Junhyung insists he has never violated any contract terms.
Last year, on the day my album was released, they suddenly said that because the number of business entities had increased, the label had to be reorganized and that they would terminate the contract unconditionally.
I was confused and said I couldn’t just agree to that, but then suddenly they said, ‘Let’s try working together again.’ Then, a month or two later, they unilaterally told me to leave the company. But they told me to pay the amount of damages determined by the company and the money they received from investors at a brokerage firm I had no agreement or knowledge of.
They said the reason was due to certain clauses in the contract, but there hasn’t been a single instance of me violating the contract since signing it…Now they’re telling me to just pay billions of won and leave?
That’s unacceptable, so I asked them to carry out the management duties until the end as stated in the contract. It’s been several months of no contact.
Who’s really breaching the contract here?— Junhyung
Junhyung’s label, BLACK MADE, has been under his control since 2022. In 2024, reports revealed BLACK MADE is a sub-label of BIG PLANET MADE (BPM), itself a sub-label of ONE HUNDRED.
This controversy is gaining traction following similar contract disputes involving ONE HUNDRED. Recently, Ju Haknyeon accused ONE HUNDRED of unjust contract termination amid a prostitution scandal.
As the situation develops, no official response has come from Junhyung’s agency or ONE HUNDRED. Fans and industry watchers are monitoring the fallout closely.
