Song Young Kyu is facing DUI controversy.
The actor was transferred to prosecution after police investigated him for drunk driving. News1 reports Yongin Dongbu Police handed him over to Suwon District Prosecutors’ Office without detention late last month.
Song allegedly drove about 5 kilometers while heavily intoxicated on June 19, 2025, around 11 p.m. from Giheung to Cheoin District in Yongin City. Police acted after a witness reported,
“It looks like someone is driving under the influence.”
Breathalyzer tests revealed Song’s blood alcohol content exceeded 0.08%, the legal limit that results in license revocation. Police say he had been drinking with acquaintances before deciding to drive himself home.
“They were unable to disclose specific details of the investigation,” a police official said.
Song Young Kyu debuted in 1994 in the musical Wizard Mureul. He’s known for memorable roles across dramas and films. Currently, he plays Pastor Yoon Se Hoon in ENA’s Eye Shopping.
