Park, a male contestant on I Am Solo, has been arrested on charges of aggravated rape.
Seoul Mapo Police took Park, a man in his 30s, into emergency custody on June 21. The alleged incident happened around 3:30 a.m. the same day in a parking lot in Seogyo-dong, Mapo District, Seoul. Park is accused of sexually assaulting a woman in her 20s who was reportedly unable to resist.
Police requested a detention warrant after the arrest. The court issued it late on June 23.
Park appeared on ENA and SBS Plus reality dating shows I Am Solo and I Am Solo: Love Continues. His arrest sparked widespread online backlash from viewers.
Neither the production teams of I Am Solo nor the broadcasters have made official statements about the arrest.
